A few weeks ago I had the chance to visit some close family friends in their beautiful home. They visit Canada every two years approximately and always come visit us for a day or two. I call them my German *fam* (family) because I've known them my whole life and they are like family to me. Therefore, I took the opportunity of studying in Europe to visit them at a lower cost and finally go to them rather than the other way around.
I stayed in their home and got to visit the small city of Kassel. The whole family was there and it was great to catch up. I've been saying for years that one day I would visit them in Germany and that day finally came. During the time I spent in Kassel, we spent most of our time catching up, playing cards, watching movies and seeing where they work, etc. But on the Sunday, us kids took a train to Frankfurt and left the parents back home ;) We got to briefly visit Frankfurt before my evening flight.
Even though it was a short stay, I really enjoyed seeing them again and wish I could back sooner!

The view from their home. Breathtaking.
